This has been quite a busy week for me and the weekend is looking to be just as full!
First, I started school this week. Going from not doing anything all day for 6 months to taking French Classes for 26 hours a week takes A LOT of adjusting. I'm enjoying it and really impressed with how much french I've retained since highschool but at the same time it's mentally exhausting and nerve wrecking. I think what's helping me out the most is having the great group of girls I've met. They're really helping me cope and adjust to school life once again.
Dodgeball happened this week like usual and our team is currently in SECOND place! We really came out of nowhere and I don't think anyone expected us to do as well as we did. It's so much fun and I'm sad that the season is ending next week. We're hoping for a 1st place victory but we'll be happy for even 2nd or 3rd.
On Wednesday the ladies and I volunteered at a food drive. It was interesting but fun and we just kind of made a game out of it. I was glad to be able to do something like that. I've always talked about volunteering and now I'm actually doing it. It's a good feeling :)
Yesterday, Lee and I went to a happy hour at the Morrin Centre Library. It was a good time and we mingled and met lots of new people. After we came home and watched some Dexter. I love Dexter! LOL
Today I'm actually skipping school to go to a meeting with Immigration Quebec. They're going to be testing me and evaluating my french knowledge to see what kind of programs they can offer me and also to see if I'll qualify for financial aid. fingers crossed also I have to order Lee's Giant Birthday Cupcake!! lol (it's what he wanted!)
Tomrrow we MUST finish our Christmas presents and finish buying some also. Then we're heading to the bar with Miranda and some friends to have a few drinks and Celebrate Lee and Simon's birthday weekend (simon is one of our Spaceball teammates) And then sunday is Lee's actual game day party! We're hanging with some friends and playing games and making pizzas! it should be a good time. :)
I've been trying to keep my camera around more than usual so hopefully I'll have some pictures to take and will post on monday!
Have a great weekend!!!

my favorite thing to do lately is to drink tea and people watch! I won't have much time for that anymore, now that school is starting. lol
tonight we have a hockey party to attend with some friends and tomorrow is our 2nd Christmas party. It's been a SERIOUSLY busy week for me. On top of everything I joined a Night-Goers Committee in which we basically will be planning monthly events for the Voices of English Speaking Quebec (VEQ) I'm definitely keeping myself on my toes now that I can be involved with all of these things. It's nice to be apart of a place. I'm really trying to make Quebec my home.

confession
i've become truly, madly and deeply in love with......FONDUE!
what is fondue? Well, according to WIKI, Fondue is a Swiss dish of melted cheese served in a communal pot (caquelon) over a spirit lamp (rechaud), and eaten by dipping long-stemmed forks with bread into the cheese. It was promoted as a Swiss national dish by the Swiss Cheese Union in the 1930s and became popular in North America in the 1960s. Since the 1950s, the name "fondue" has been generalized to other dishes where a food is dipped into a communal pot of hot liquid: chocolate fondue, where pieces of fruit are dipped into a melted chocolate mixture, and fondue bourguignonne, where pieces of meat are cooked in hot oil.
It is SO delish and easy to make, it's a great party meal and maker.
So, Friday my new group of lady friends and I are throwing our significant others a Christmas party! I'm contemplating on what to bring mainly because I hate only bringing 1 dish. So, I'm thinking of making a cake similar to one I made last week. It was a moist chocolate cake with almond buttercream filling and had a chocolate ganache poured over it. Needless to say, it was fucking awesome! lol

I'm also thinking of making my own bruschetta and garlic toasts, and lastly........
It's a Baked Fontina Cheese fondue and it literally has my mouth drooling! I cannot wait to try it and it's honestly so simple that it should take about 15 minutes out of my prep time. I'm now on the hunt for a really good fontina to make this recipe a homerun!
I'll let you know how it goes.....Are you guys going to any Christmas parties? Are you making or wearing anything special? oh and if you get a chance I would strongly advise that you try that chocolate cake. it really was amazing.

school days
I register for school on Wednesday!!!! I'm recieving my financial aid and cannot be more excited that I'm on this road! Now, I have to take at least 6 months of French before I can take regular classes but I'm totally cool with that. I just love the idea of being able to call myself a student again (it's been far too long) I'm not sure what I'm going to do after but I know that I'll be done with my major Francisation courses and anything after that will be optional. I'm so ready to be in school and January can't get here fast enough.
:)
dodge ball tournament on Tuesday (wish us Luck) and then another Christmas party with us Ladies and our Gents on Friday.

Salsa Night!
Salsa Night was a BLAST! I had so much fun with these ladies and I think we really connected in a way we hadn't by just going to the mall together. It's a lot harder to make friends once you become an adult which is why I believe I held on to friendships I believe should have been let go long before. I look forward to more Ladies Nights for they are much needed.
julia, me, mariya
Ivan(random guy hitting on jess) , Jessillynn, Miranda
btw... it turns out I'm an awful Salsa Dancer! So, I'll be practicing on youtube for when we go again!
