closer and closer

I thought I'd make this blog a little longer than I did (seeing as I have spare time lol)
This week is going to be a DOOZY! Mostly because it's our last full week before the move. I wanted to work atleast a couple of days this pay period because A. the girl that's replaced me hasn't learned everything there is about catering and with memorial day weekend ahead it's bound to get crazy! B. because we can always use extra cash!C. my aunt would drive me insane if I stood home for a whole week! So, 3 days of work is better than all of the above.
My packing is......moving very slowly. I'm so excited about moving but I honestly HATE packing. I'm awful at it and I'd rather be doing so many more important things that I just cant think of at the moment! LOL. It does NEED to get done and hopefully will be completed before Tuesday, our last full day in the states! (if you can't tell by now, I LOVE MILESTONES!)
My engagement ring is at the jewelers at this very moment  :( I feel so naked without it. One of the prongs broke and they said I was very lucky not to lose my diamond, anywho that's getting fixed and so happy about it!
We bought my aunt her Thank You present today. It's was a VERY EXPENSIVE (for us) and VERY DELICIOUS bottle of Peter Michael Chardonnay. I've never spent a lot of money on wine, I think the most I've ever paid for a bottle was $17.99 lol but this one was a $89.95 bottle of wine! It's so good but I'll probably never do it again especially if I won't be drinking it. I know she's going to be THRILLED when she see what it is and though she may have driven us up the walls while we were here, we couldn't be doing this move without her.
We're going roller skating  and out for karaoke this week! not much more to say about that  :D
Leevan and I will be celebrating our 1st Wedding Anniversary in 17 days! I cannot believe that it's already so here. When I think back at where I was last year 17 days before the wedding I'm so glad at the people we've become in just 1 year. We won't be doing anything HUGE for our anniversary only because we just celebrated 5 years last month and the day I met my best friend and love of my life is honestly so much more important to me than the day we exchanged our vows. Those vows I made were vows I had already made to him in private and he knows that as much as I know that a wedding is a confirmation of the love you already have. It's not meant to strengthen it.
Anyways, I'm planning a picnic on top of Les Plaines D'Abraham, which is a field on on top of a hill in quebec city. I have to plan it right so that the view is perfect to see the sunset and the Chateau Frontenac. Sorta like this pic but, I'm determined to find the perfect spot! I have so many things planned and we'll finally open one of our wedding presents (a bottle of Vintage Don Perignon) and eat wonderful picnic-y foods!  :D
Anywhos....I have so much to get done over the next couple of days that I doubt my outfits will be show stoppers! believe me when I say you're not missing anything.

I'll be back in a couple of days! So many things to take care of and get done before the move! Have a Great Week!

see you in june  (hopefully sooner)

Etiquette for a Lady

Etiquette for a Lady

this is become one of my favorite places! i love to read these because they're so true and can really help out in random situations. :D

i know you guys are probably over this move already, even though it hasn't even taken place yet! it's just insane to think that we have we have 13 more days until the move...i have 5 more days of work and that 5 of these 13 days will be spent in a celebration of some sort! i'll be atteneding 3 different farewell parties before we leave! it's exciting :D
lee's party for work is being held this saturday, only because his boss is going away memorial weekend. then my job is going to have a very little "to do" for me and THEN the ladies at my old job are holding a 2 part farewell that includes rollerskating and karoke in manhattan! i'm on the hunt for a fat friendly rollerskating outfit and a killer dress to wear for the karoke night in manhattan! i'm so glad summer is here cause that opens my options to so much more fun stuffs!
I can't wait for the move.

nighty night

New Girl

a "wow" kinda woman.

“I’ve always been a size 14-16. I’m not going to lose weight because someone tells me to. People don’t need to use their bodies sexually to do well. If anyone told me to lose weight, I wouldn’t work with them any more. I don’t want to go on a diet; I don’t want to eat a Caesar salad with no dressing. Why would I do that? Just be happy and don’t be stupid.” - Adele

counting down....

I cannot believe how fast the days are going by. 8 more days of work 14 more days until the move, it just doesn't seem real. I guess it won't seem real until the first 2 weeks in Quebec are up and I'm thinking we're NOT packing up to head back home because...it will be our home.

I'm starting to get sad about it. I've made a friend and now I'm having to leave her behind. I really have to stop doing that! This whole making friends business isn't cut out for someone who can't stay still. I just feel so selfish about even allowing her into my life when I knew what the outcome was going to be. It's also hard for the people I've come to depend on when I just needed some time... they were there for me and listened to me and now...I'm just leaving. I'm insanely excited and not really nervous but sad. I'm sad that I won't have them right next door or a phone call away. I won't have my shopping buddies or my GNO (girls night out) I won't get to see Garrett, Joelle or Gabriel grow up. I just hope that everyone knows that I love them and I'm going to miss them so much. I don't talk about it because it hurts and I know that if I start I'll just end crying like the big baby that I can be. I know that everyone knows I love them, I'm hoping the one person I'll be able to tell in person this week is my sister. We haven't said a word to each other in 6 months and I hope she'll answer my phone call tonight. I hope I hope I hope.

anywho. 14 days and counting.....

Yesterday and today have been full of nothing but laughs and tears. I really didn't think much about the people we'd be leaving behind in the beginning of our moving process but now, with only 2 weeks until the big day, the reality is definitely setting in. :(
Yesterday we had a double date with an older couple that is very dear to our hears. Chipper and Ayanna are the couple that inspire us to just do whatever we can to make it work, especially when it comes to having children in our lives. We started the evening having dinner at Houlihan's where we had oversized cocktail drinks, too many appetizers and then a I was challenged to take a shot of whiskey by Chip and the waiter! I didn't want to dissapoint so I accepted and IMPRESSED! lol :D
After dinner we went to Mystique which is a Hookah Lounge. I've tried hookah before and really enjoyed it so I was all for going again :D It was such a great time and just a good way to talk and enjoy the company of good people. We ended the night at Cold Stone....need I say more? lol
Today, Lee hung out with a good friend doing "man" things like seeing the movie Bridesmaids!!! lol I however, took my cousins and my brother Matt (visiting from florida) to see Thor. O....M....G....

end of story.

I didn't wear anything worth taking pics of today so I'll post my yesteday outfit
I honestly wish I could say the pics were better...we were running so late but i knew if I didn't document something at home it would never happen. So, here are the poor quality, lack of flash pics I took!

Yesterday, my girlfriend Dani and I went dress shopping for a wedding she's attending. Honestly, at first I was a little weery about going...only because she had been looking for a dress since the beginning of the month and NOTHING she tried was good enough!!! Alas, Macys was our first stop and luckily our only stop! she was able to find not 1 but 2 dresses that she absolutely loved and because of the she bought both :D (she's gonna return the one she ends up not wearing lol)

were prety sure she's keeping the middle one cause it just gives her a freaking awesome figure! we ended the night eating Red Robin, yummmmm! lol and watcing the last bit of American Idol. I will no longer be watching now that all the talent has been voted off!

i found the cutest panties(yes more panties!) on clearance in macys! they were $1.99 a piece and SO freaking pretty :D

I was wearing a cute little outfit I threw together (which included my new shoes!)

America, America....

Today was a fun-filled day of waiting....waiting....and just when you think you're done waiting....just keep waiting....cause we had to wait for a while!!! We also had a delicious lunch at Houston's and then went to the dentist for a cleaning with the hubster.

My hubby is now a Naturalized Citizen of the United States of America. He wasn't actually THRILLED about the idea of the whole process, mainly because it's a lot of money and time to spend when we're moving out of the country in 3 weeks. But it's done and that means we can move to Canada and not be worried abouthaving issues whenever we come to The States to visit family. The Ceremony was insanely uneventful...like seriously awful. We had to be up at 5:30 am to be dressed and ready and out of the door by 7:00 it took an hour to get there and were told wehad a 30 min wait before anything was started. 3 HOURS LATER!!!!! All of the paperwork and sitting in silence was done and the 20 MINUTE "CEREMONY" could be started!!!! I thought I was going to shoot myself. I'm such an impatient person so to just sit in silence.....around people i didnt know.......for 3 hours........was almost unbearable! LUCKILY seeing Leevan look behind and smile at me from time to time made the waiting worth it. He's so freaking handsome :D

After the ceremony I was craving steak so we went to Houston's for an overpriced lunch! It was totally delish and worth it!!! By the time I remembered that I was supposed to take pictures all my of my chicken was torn to bits and only half of my spinach was left. I tried to pretty it up and take some anyways but Lee just told me to give up! lol

Later, we walked around the mall trying to find new shoes for Lee before heading to the dentist for his checkup on the wisdom teeth pulled out 6 months ago. Everthing is looking good so we can go to CA and not worry about needing any extra work before his insurance kicks in!

Finally we came home...jumped into bed and watched The Mechanic. It was surprisingly GOOD! lol I love that guy (can't ever remember his name) He's super sexy and super British which is a very good combination for me!
All in all the day was a success! My husband is no longer an Alien and we had a tummy full of good food and an eye full of a sexy british badass!

I'll end with a pic of the outfit I wore today. Didn't wear the pretty new shoes I got cause it was a wee bit chilly when we left the house the AM. But I did wear some pretty Jessica Simpson heels I bought a couple of months ago.

sorry about the cheesy mirror pic. i'm pretty sure i packed my tripod :/

ciao all

must share!!!

saw this and had to post:

things i bought this week!!!

i figured this is a fun thing to have for a blog because I'm always buying something new and fun!

Yesterday, I bought some fabulous shoes from Nordstrom Rack! They were $34.95 with 50% off!!! They're so freaking pretty! My aunt bought me a pair of the same brand( Seychelles) last year for my birthday and sadly those shoes don't fit perfectly and can only be worn for a VERY short amount of time! lol These are wedged sandals so they fit much more comfortably and I'm hoping to wear them tomorrow for Lee's big day (he's becoming an American!) I'll take pics of my outfit and post them for you to see tomorrow!

I also bought some pretty new undies from Target :D they're thongs and were 5 for $20 and super worth it. lol (leevan really liked them!)
Lastly I bought some lotion from Jergens that gradually tans which is something I've been wanting for a while. I LOVE being in the sun but it's so bad for skin that I try not to be in it as much and if I am I normally wear sunblock on my face! So, it's hard to get the color I want. With this, I'm hoping to be the color I love while protecting the skin I love!

The week definitely isn't over so I'm sure I'll be updating this sporadically.

living with family----it ain't easy

My husband and I have been living with some family while we wait for our move. It hasn't been the easiest time int he world but it definitely hasn't been the hardest thing to do either. My aunt likes her home a specific way... I get that. We're not used to it and because of that we choose to just stay out of her way and make it so that we're kind of invisible. She doesn't like that! So, we try and make ourselves useful when we can. We offer to help when we can and I know that's it's not enough but sometimes I feel as if I'm being treated as a "lepper" because of it. I wish so hard that we weren't moving in with another family and that we'd just have our own home again. It's so hard to be someone we're not and I know it's not easy for my aunt and family as well. I just can't wait to be done with this whole situation and back on our own 2 feet.

1 week down!

I cannot believe that's we're already 1 week closer to our move! It seriously just seems like the month of May started and we're already almost over...kinda! lol
We have a lot going on this week. Today was Mother's Day so, to all you mommy's out there I hope you had a wonderful day! Tomorrow, I have a dentist appointment to get some cavities taken care of. Wednesday is Lee's citizenship ceremony and Thursday our friend Max is coming to move the last bit of our stuff! All we'll have left to move when we leave are our clothes and bathroom stuff! I cannot believe we're almost there! I'm sure you're all excited about it too, that way I have something else to write about! LOL

Anywhos, hockey is on and my hubby is a waitin

It's MAY!!!!

It's FINALLY May! It seems that ever since I told my job that I'm leaving and moving to Canada that time itself has stopped!!! However, with the month of May now in session as a confirmation of the clock ticking it just feels SO REAL!

The next couple of weeks are going to be immensely busy, I have dinners with friends I haven't seen in a while, dinners with friends I've just made and am going to be SO SAD to leave :(
I have farewell parties for my husband in Manhattan and our own going away party to plan! It's just A LOT and now, with only 4 weekends to get all this in it's going to be a circus! On top of all the plans we have made we still have to pack! I know we'll be fine and everything will work out in the end so I'm just going to focus on the positive and be excited for everything!

I'm having Sunday Dinner with my bestie and her family today! :D
